First Generation
The Mustang Fastback made its debut in September of 1964 for the following model year, and it was a hit right from the start. Those first Mustang models were priced at less than $2,400, and utilized parts and components from many of other Ford models at the time. The result was a new Ford car that was easy to build and less expensive to maintain, since the new model wasn't accompanied by a new line of compatible parts. It blew exceeded sales projections out of the water and was so popular that it only took 18 months for Ford to produce its 1,000,000th Mustang! Additional performance and aesthetic options were made available in 1969, allowing drivers of the Mustang in Holdenville to customize it to their preferences.
Second Generation
The first redesign of the Mustang was in 1974. The new version was smaller than the original, which proved to be a prescient move as the oil crises of the mid 1970s put gas at a premium. Some performance was lost in the redesign, but the Mustang retained a style and presence that was impossible to miss.
Third Generation
The Mustang returned to its slightly larger roots beginning in 1979 and added a hatchback option for the first time. There was some tweaking to the design over the course of this 14-year generation. Most notable was the front end, which received an upgrade in 1987. It wouldn't be long before the Mustang took inspiration from the groundbreaking original design!
Fourth Generation
The 1994 Mustang was a callback to the original, a complete redesign that was a 180-degree turn from the previous generation. The fastback and convertible body styles were modern versions of the classic coupe. New styling in 1999 added a sharper, more aggressive look without changing the body structure or chassis.
Fifth Generation
The Mustang received a stylish update in 2005, with old and new elements incorporated without losing the soul of the car. Another update arrived in 2009 that added now-modern touches like LED lights. Lighter, more powerful super-charged engines were introduced, making the Mustang capable of holding its own on the racetrack.
Sixth Generation
The latest generation arrived in 2015, and many of the used Mustang cars near Prague at Seminole Ford are based on this most recent design. You'll find Ford's most recent innovations, like the EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine, a V6, or the legendary 5.0-liter V8 engine that the Mustang made famous!
Other recent upgrades to a used Mustang could include such amenities like a push-button start, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay connectivity, and even heated and cooled front seats!
