For the latest model year, Ford has introduced the Rattler trim with off-road capability at a more affordable level. Engines and performance options

The latest version of the F-150 offers a burly lineup of engines starting with a 3.3-liter V-6 that generates 290 horsepower and followed by 5.0-liter V-8 with 400 horsepower. Or you can move higher to a 325-horsepower twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6, a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 with 400 horsepower or a 3.0-liter diesel V-6 with 250 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque.

In addition, the Ford F-150 now offers a hybrid powertrain and it's worth investigating. The new 400-horsepower hybrid powertrain is built with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine, a 35-kilowatt electric motor and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Towing and payload capacity

At the entry level, the F-150's 3.3-liter V6 engine can tow a maximum of 8,200 pounds. At the high end of the scale, the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine with 400 horsepower can pull up to 14,000 pounds. That's the best towing capacity in the Ford F-150's very competitive class. You can also do very well with the 5.0-liter V8 that can tow as much as 13,000 pounds and the diesel V6 has a maximum towing capacity of 12,100 pounds. Payload capacity in the new F-150 ranges from 1,840 pounds to 3,250 pounds.
